Auto Draft

This wombat came for a wander through the Evera grounds during the middle of the day (on the 18th of May). Having been admired from afar for a while, a small camera was found, one photo taken, and in no time the wombat had disappeared into the undergrowth. If it isn’t clear where the wombat is – it is by the outdoor oven, near the retreat/school cabin.

The photo is unfortunately not very clear and the contrast too high to allow for much detail, but hopefully the profile shows that it is a wombat.

The new house has a new roof

House with roof - kitchen window It is looking more and more like a home, now that the roof is on the recylced house, and the final windows are in.

This view includes the laundry /kitchen entrance and the kitchen window. To the right is a large (master) bedroom, and to the left, beyond the kitchen, is the living room space.

This is the other side of the living room/kitchen extension. With the living room windows and the front door. To the left is another bedroom wing. Altogether there are three bedrooms, one is located to the rear, next to the bathroom.

And last but not least, the scaffolding has been removed and the front of the house stands clear. The two bedroom wings flank the central living areas of laundry, bathroom (interior to rear), kitchen, and living room (front centre).

Still to come is the eco-refit – with solar power, etc.

Exciting developments on the land

I just typed out Simone Weil’s elaboration of what she means with order

[Simone Weil considering the universal obligation of satisfying needs of the soul which - together with satisfying the needs of the body – works to realise the dignity of the human being.]

ORDER

The first of the soul’s needs, the one which touches most nearly its eternal destiny, is order; that is to say, a texture of [...]

World Music CD – quote

A final quote from the booklet accompanying the CD with world music performed at Shin’s Earth Celebration 1997 in Switzerland.

Human dignity is given into your hand. Guard it!

It sinks with you, with you it will be uplifted.
